| Beschreibung: Am 6. Juni 1944 ("D-Day") starten Flugzeuge in England, überqueren den Kanal und setzen Tausende von Fallschirmspringern über Frankreich ab, wobei sie unter schweren Beschuss geraten. Keiner der Männer landet an der geplanten Stelle, viele verlieren bei der Landung ihre Waffen und Vorräte. Winters sammelt verstreute Soldaten ein, und sie versuchen, ihre Einheit zu finden. Später bekommt Winters den Befehl, eine befestigte deutsche Artilleriestellung anzugreifen. Das Unternehmen glückt zwar, doch Winter, jetzt Befehlshaber der Kompanie, verliert seinen ersten Mann. | ||
