| Beschreibung: Ein WW2-Shooter der stark an Medal of Honor erinnert. Gleich 22 Entwickler aus dem Team von EA haben sich selbstständig gemacht und entwickeln nun für Activision. Call of Duty erzählt keine zusammenhängende Geschichte sondern vielmehr einzelne Episoden des Krieges. So zum Beispiel die Landung in der Normandie oder die Verteidigung der Pegasusbrücke. Dabei schlüpft der Spieler in die Rollen verschiedener Soldaten und deren Geschichte. Die Atmosphäre ist eines der hervostechensten Mittel von Call of Duty. So wurden zum Beispiel die Geräusche der Waffen bei eigens durchgeführten Probeschießen der Originale aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg aufgezeichnet. Nicht zulezt aus diesem Grund wurde Call of Duty mehrfach zu Game of the Year gekrönt. Der sehr umfangreiche Multiplayermodus der bei Call of Duty enthalten ist, begründete für viele Spiele den Weg und ist eine große Präsenz im E-Sports Bereich gewesen.
