| Beschreibung: Im März stellen sich 24 Parteien und Bündnisse zur ersten demokratischen Wahl der DDR-Volkskammer. Mit 48 Prozent siegt die “Allianz für Deutschland”, ein Wahlbündnis aus der ostdeutschen CDU und kleineren konservativen Gruppierungen. Am 1. Juli wird mit der Marktwirtschaft auch in Ostdeutschland die D-Mark eingeführt. Auf Währungspartys feiern die DDR-Bürger das neue Geld, es regnet alte “Alu-Chips”. Und noch ein Grund zum Feiern: Die Nationalmannschaft der Bundesrepublik schlägt Argentinien im WM-Endspiel in Rom. Andreas Brehme verwandelt in der 85. Minute einen Foulelfmeter ins 1:0 - und Deutschland wird Weltmeister. Am 31. August wird der deutsch-deutsche Einigungsvertrag unterzeichnet. Gut einen Monat später ist es soweit: Am 3. Oktober 1990 wird die deutsche Wiedervereinigung vollzogen, die DDR zum “Beitrittsgebiet”. | ||
